Every English-Japanese dictionary I checked gives 体格 as one of its glosses for "constitution." In some dictionaries, it is the first gloss. This seems fundamentally wrong, as shown by these definitions:
constitution  a person's physical state with regard to vitality, health, and strength: pregnancy had weakened her constitution (New Oxford American)

たいかく体格】 からだの組み立て。身長・体重・骨格などによって示される身体の外観的状態。からだつき。(大辞林)
