Matsui Leads Yankees' Show of Power

Hideki Matsui bowed his head, puffed his cheeks and closed his eyes. Maybe his 332 home runs in Japan were blurring together. Asked if he remembered the last time he hit a "Sayonara Home Run," Matsui could not. "Maybe three years ago," Matsui finally said, through an interpreter.

Actually, Matsui's last game-ending homer in Japan was on April 13, 2001, against the Yokohama BayStars. Chances are, he will not have such a hard time remembering his first for the Yankees.
