Lexical Leavings

I ran across this sentence example today in a Japanese-English dictionary under N:
pݐ푈1991NN
The Gulf War broke out in 1991.
I suggested changing the Japanese to Ppݐ푈 and the English to "the first Gulf War." As the second Gulf War has just begun, though, we will have to wait to see how the names evolve in the coming months and years.
